TEGOPLAST Thanks to its different versions – length: 25 cm (9.8”) and 75 cm (29.5”), height 12 cm (4.7”), 16 cm (6.3”), 20 cm (7.9”), 25 cm (9.8”), width 38 cm (15”) – and pieces, TEGOPLAST can be employed to build floor support structures
made of reinforced concrete rather than traditional lug bricks or other materials.

TEGOPLAST is the fastest and easiest way to make reinforced concrete floors allowing to lighten the structure thus increasing its safety.

Può essere tagliato sia in senso longitudinale che trasversale riducendo al massimo lo sfrido.

Comparison between weights


TEGOPLAST use, in the making of floors, determines a decrease of the total weight respect to the use of the traditional brick or concrete products.
Mixed floors with rafters in prestressed concrete and TEGOPLAST have a different total weight, inferior to 15% respect to a traditional floor with brick wall. The reason is due to the difference between TEGOPLAST weight and a brick block.
For ex. The weight of an open TEGOPLAST of 12 cm height, is equal, on avarage, to 1/11 respect to a brick wall with the same height.
This ratio grows with the increase of the height of the elements till reaching to 1/14 in case of elements with an height of 25 cm.
The weight reduction determines not only a decrease of the loads burdening on the floor but also a remarkable improvement of the workers’ job conditions, as well as a decrease of the laying stage time as the element is very light. As there is a permanent reduction of the load, TEGOPLAST is particularly indicated in seismic areas.
Seismic forces are proportional to the building mass resulting particularly appropriate to make ceilings as much light as possible. The reduced weight determined a reduction of the wastes in the foundations and a saving in the make of the bearing structure either in terms of the concrete volume or in the quantity of the scaffolding.
The small quantity of steel, besides determining a significant economic saving, it also favours the concrete discharge during the laying stage, thus avoiding the danger of the formation of empty spaces, which are very frequent in case of too congested armours and excluding the eventuality to have to increase the concrete section.
The reduction of the total weight determines a decrease of the stress characteristics induced in itself, a decrease in the quantity of the armour or with an equal armour compared to a traditional floor with a brick block,as well as an increase of the structural safety..
It is not necessary to make the wetting of the elements before the casting stage, as it is used to do with the bricks, for TEGOPLAST is not porous and it does not absorb the water of the concrete mixture. For this reason there is no danger that the proportion water-concrete can be modified.
